BioShock fans will probably want to check out The Black Glove

The Black Glove isn't BioShock but if you squint you can see the family resemblance that heritage grants it.

A group of former Irrational games developers have formed Day For Night Games, a new indie studio. Its first project is The Black Glove, which was announced in June but has just hit Kickstarter.

The team is looking for $550,000 to fund the first person adventure, and there are a lot of reasons why you should take a look. The aesthetic is strongly reminiscent of BioShock; the surreal 1920's theatre setting is cool; the time-travelling, sci-fi story should prick Infinite fans' ears; and the talk of driving forward narrative in games is intriguing to say the least.

But what the project really has going for it is how you interact with the story. By overcoming challenges in the form of classic-style arcade games, players earn the chance to use the Black Glove, a device allowing them to alter the minds of the artists in residence at the theatre.

Changing how the creators thinks changes their art - for better or worse. Day For Night Games is planning on a wide variety of possible story permutations, and lots of replayability.

If successful, The Black Glove is expected on Linux, Mac and PC in late 2015, as well as other platforms still to be announced.

Check out the pitch video below, and do visit the Kickstarter page to view the impressive list of credits the team has to show for itself: writers, artists and designers on BioShock and BioShock Infinite.
