Bloodborne release date and limited edition announced in Tokyo

The next Souls game has a Japanese release date, and it isn't as distant as it could have been.

Bloodborne will release on PS4 on February 5 in Japan, Sony said in a pre-TGS broadcast this morning.

There was no date for the western release, although you can safely expect it in Febuary.

A limited edition was also announced, although there were no details to speak of.

Sony showed a new gameplay trailer in the presentation, and we'll have that for you as soon as the internet allows it.

Bloodborne is the next game in the Souls series, an ultra-hard Gothic horror led by renowned developer Hidetaka Miyazaki.

We saw it at gamescom a few weeks ago. It looks quite good.

Be sure to catch up on all the rest of the details from today's Sony press conference.
