HearthStone single-player adventure mode Curse of Naxxramas announced at PAX East

HearthStone: Heroes of Warcraft's single-player adventure mode, Curse of Naxxramas, was announced by Blizzard at PAX East 2014 today.

The single-player PvE adventure contains five "unique wings" of the dungeon and new cards and Hero Powers earned by defeating bosses such as the "over-sized arachnid Maexxna, the fungal horror Loatheb, plague cauldron master Heigan the Unclean, and the shambling abomination Patchwerk."

A total of 30 new cards will be added with Curse of Naxxramas, and unique game board complete with interactive corners.

Nine Class Challenges are also included and if completed, will reward players with new class-specific cards.

Curse of Naxxramas will open wing by wing over the course of five weeks, opening. The first wing, The Arachnid Quarter, will be available free for all Hearthstone players.

Each wing besides the Arachnid Quarter can be purchased with in-game gold or real money, and as each wing is released, the cards available will also show up in a player's Arena picks - even if they have not earned them for personal collection.

Curse of Naxxramas is planned to release simultaneously for PC, Mac and iPad. A release date will be announced at a later time.
