Watch Dogs minimum PC specs released

Wednesday, 12th March 2014 05:45 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Watch Dogs is a cross-gen title, which means you won’t need a heavyweight PC to run it – at least at minimum settings.

The minimum requirements come courtesy of creative director Jonathan Morin on Twitter:

  • Processor: IntelCore 2 Quad Q8400 2.66Ghz or AMDPhenom II X4 940 3.0Ghz
  • Memory: 6GB RAM
  • Video card: 1024 VRAM DirectX 11 Shader 5.0
  • Sound Card: DirectX9
  • Hard drive: 25 GB

Morin confirmed these are the official minimum specs, but not supply recommended requirements. It’ll be interesting to see how high Ubisoft sets the recommended bar, given the game’s reportedly gorgeous PS4 and Xbox One versions.

Watch Dogs is coming to PC, PlayStation 3, PS4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One on May 27, but the Wii U version has been delayed.

Thanks, MP1st.

actualy is the other way around…next gen titles like witcher 3 and batman arkham night will have less requirements because of the optimization and the easy transition from next gen con to PC….so NO

These are all over the place, a top tier processor of almost 5 years ago? SIX gigs or memory? It sounds like “A PC which looks like a slightly improved PS4/Xbox One”.

It sounds like this will be a shitty conversion….

P.S. Guys, do something with the site, I keep on receiving “You must be logged in to post a comment” and have to start an incognito tab then log in then comment again….

Btw, has anyone noticed that ps4`s gpu is part of the ultra system requirements? So that means that if ps4 version looks bad, so will the pc version that runs on ultra settings

It has been long rumored that the recommended spec is a 6-core processor and 4 GB Ram. I spec’s my new PC to play these next gen titles so I hope they push the recommended specs up.

@Reddpayn PS4 is using a cut down Radeon 7870, functionally to the level of Radeon 7850. Both are 2 years old mid range graphics cards that wouldn’t be able to run any 2013 game on Ultra settings @1080p with playable framerates.

    @Llewelyn_MT
Im just saying that the hd 7870 is a gpu that is required to play watchdogs on ultra according to ubisoft atleast. Also the 1.84gflops on ps4`s gpu is similiar to normal hd7870, and ps4`s gddr5 ram also affects the performance in a good way. With these specs and proper console optimization i would claim that ultra settings are realistic for ps4
