The Wonderful 101 sequel could incorporate Miis

Friday, 17th January 2014 04:13 GMT By Brenna Hillier

The Wonderful 101 was supposed to have players’ Miis in-game as heroes, and if a sequel is developer, Platinum Games hopes this missing feature makes the cut.

Director Hideki Kamiya expressed his hopes to bring a bit more of the player’s own personality in-game in a recent tweet.

“We tried to make it possible to join your own Mii with TW100 as a hero. We hope we can do it in TW102,” he said.

Oh my god, we’re calling it The Wonderful 102? that’s adorable. Anyway, whatever we call it, The Wonderful 102 has not been confirmed or announced; Kamiya is talking hypothetically, and reiterating his desire for such a thing.

It’s reasonably unlikely Kamiya would get the chance to do a sequel should it be green lit; he’s said in the past that he feels obliged to move onto new projects, which is why Bayonetta 2 is out of his hands.

Thanks, Siliconera.

Yeah if the Wii U lasts long enough to develop it that is.Such a shame to see a system wasted so.

Why one earth would anyone fund Wonderful 102? The original was a great game but it bombed so badly that outside Kickstarter, no publisher will pay for its sequel.

Feature request – could we have a button somewhere on the site to strip out half-baked non-stories derived from Kamiya’s Twitter feed please?

All of Platinum’s games have sold like shit, apart from maybe Metal Gear Rising for obvious reasons.

Hell even the Clover games titles sold like shit.

The greatest games of last gen and the gen before that constantly under-sell, crying shame.

There is shit sales and then there is Wonderful 101 sales. It sold less than 80k WORLD WIDE. In contrast, something like Bayonetta broke 1 million.

It broke 1 million in life time sales to date, go have a look at Anarchy Reigns or Vanquish or Okami or any of the Viewtiful Joe games or God Hand or Mad World.

Hell even Infinite Space sold poorly on the DS and its another fantastic title that no ones even heard of.
