Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn developer Square Enix has confirmed the MMO’s PS4 launch date, and clarified the format’s incoming beta test dates.

Siliconera reports that Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn will hit PlayStation 4 in April 2014.

Square will invite players to test out the game in beta trials starting February 22, 2014. This is the same day PS4 launches in Japan.

The site add that players can transfer their progress between the PS3 and PS4 versions, but that it’s a one-way trip. You can’t then go back to the PS3 and keep playing the same save.

What do you make of the above? Will you be getting the PS4 build? Let us know below.

Picked this up on PS3 for the cross gen cross buy but wasn’t that impressed.

Any chance of this going F2P with microtransactions? Monthly subs seems like a very old model nowadays.

Picked this up on Black Friday. I’m hooked was hoping the ps4 transistion would be sooner though. I’m going to use my free month up then buy one more and wait for it to come to ps4 and start back up again

Got this cheap on Black Friday and it felt very natural to come back into, after being in the BETA. It’s nice to not have any restrictions on when I can play, although I think I’m probably getting less done in real life now.

I’m actually glad for the subscription fee, because it will serve as a reason to not just devote my life to the damn game. I’m on the free trial now and whenever the first story expansion comes out, I’ll just buy that and a month’s subscription fee to play for another month.
