New direct-feed 1080p gameplay video for Forza 5 shows off Sebring track

Sunday, 3rd November 2013 00:02 GMT By Phil Owen

Below you can watch someone at Turn10 driving a Forza 5′s KTM X-Bow R at the Sebring International Raceway in Florida. Definitely watch it, and then let us all know if you spot any aliasing.

[author's note: The aliasing comment was a joke, and light trolling. It was a comment on how picky about little details some folks are getting in the new console war.]

”Definitely watch it, and then let us all know if you spot any aliasing.”

lolwhat? Don’t turn this into a neogaf disaster article.

That said, the video is seriously compressed and doesn’t do the game justice at all. Watch some of the Gamersyde vids instead to get a real feel for the game.

^^ So original right? He used the same lame ass joke in three other articles. His favorite piece of plastic sucks this time around so he is pretty butthurt and taking it out on random irrelevant internet aqauntices.

where’s the track-side animation? Is everyone else dead? Is it a racing game set after the apocalypse?

looks like something that could easily be on the 360

^^ yeah bone is x360 with new motion gaming gimmick selling for 500.

Really? You think that looks ‘next gen’ Sanwiches? Racing on a track with nothing going on, no other cars, no action on the side line, nothing.

… and you’re calling me retarded.

    #13 1 year ago
  14. Hcw87

You DO sound a bit retarded. If you look around the web for a bit, you’ll find LOTS of real direct feed footage that looks way better than the video posted here.

This video doesn’t showcase the visuals of the game at all.

@19 “This video doesn’t showcase the visuals of the game at all.”

That’s my whole point wizard. This video looks like crap.

I saw every Forza 5 video. It looks like current gen crap.

Want to see how Real Driving Sim looks like? Easy.

Considering how much more powerful the PC’s that run Project Cars are, the game should look way better than that.

Not impressive really, certainly not that much better than either Forza or Driveclub.

Just goes to show how much better consoles can perform with worse hardware than PC’s.

  18. Erthazus

“Not impressive really, certainly not that much better than either Forza or Driveclub.”

Oh yeah? Show me a real-time screenshot that is better then what I just showed. + be sure to show me a forza/Driveclub car that has little drops on them with real time lightning reflection and decent fog.

“certainly not that much better than either Forza or Driveclub”

buy yourself glasses. Car’s wheel has more polygons then the entire car in Forza.

    P.S Found screenshot.

Crappy reflections, cartoonish look, outdated lightning, crappy looking road, no sense of speed.

    Project Cars:

Perfect reflections, great look, the best lightning, road with bump-mapping and self-shadowing, dirt on the car, sense of speed without motion-blur.

    and yes,
perfect reflections on the road with rain or any other weather.

@23 i hate almost every comment you made, but that last image was awesome.

On topic, i really liked the video. It’s a shame the absence of life in the track, but i does look good.

Seriously though, who actually cares about what games are on the PC if you’re getting a console?

^ True. who cares about console if i’m getting a 3DS with Riiiiidge Racer?
    Stupid comment.

@26 Every gamer is a valid gamer, whether they’re on a high end PC or enjoying Tetris on a Game Boy.

  23. Ekona

@26: Not really, it’s a fair point. I have zero interest in a PC as a gaming device, so however better a completely different game may look than a title I’m actually going to purchase is kinda irrelevant.

Sure, Project Cars looks pretty, but does it play well? I know the Forza series plays well, which is why it keeps getting my money. It’s also on a platform that I’d consider buying, unlike Project Cars.

It’s interesting to see what games are available on PC, but unless Project Cars gets a PS4/XB1 release then it’s irrelevant to me.

I didn’t say Forza looked better, just that Project Cars didn’t look that much better (which it should do, since it’s on the godly platform known as PC, right?).

Also, who the fuck stares at raindrops while playing a racing game.

It’s like those retards on Neogaf saying the PS4 version of Battlefield 4 had a few more clouds in the sky. WHO STARES AT CLOUDS IN THE MIDDLE OF A MULTIPLAYER MATCH?

I’m talking overall visual fidelity, not small shit you don’t even notice anyway (realtime wind physics/raindrops on the freaking car).

Heh they forgot the sound of the Atom air intake that is 3 inches from your head making the sucking noise when full throttle.

…you know that Project Cars is coming to consoles too, do you?!

    #30 1 year ago
  31. Opalauge

By the way…Ian Bell from pCars said that they are working on 200k polygons per car (additional 50k for the interior) at maximum LOD (photo mode).
GT5 and Forza 4 already hat around 300-500k polygon models per car at maximum LOD (in Autovista Mode = 1 million!).

So screw your stupid “tire-comment”. It’s not the LOD what makes it look good, it’s the resolution and textures. the cars are definetly modeled with less details.

  32. Erthazus

@Hcw87, Actually raindrops makes car look realistic at the rain time and RAIN actually exist in this world while in the world of Forza and GT rain is something from a fantasy. If you don’t know, real-time makes cars look different every single time and

Next gen console so far at 1080p shows nothing special. Cars look bland and without decent reflections. Just put there reflections and game easily will be in 720p and 30-60 fps. Put there weather and decent view distance with a lot of grass and welcome to current gen res and performance.
“just that Project Cars didn’t look that much better”

and how must it look like? Show me something from sim’s THAT LOOK like that if it is not “much better” on any platform?
    like this one.

@Opalauge, and you know it’s coming to the current gen consoles? WiiU, Xbox 360, PS3??? and not next gen? I’m talking about Next Generation because current-gen won’t produce the same graphical image. That’s why I’m not even touching GT6 here.

Gt5 500K polygons? – screenshot of the car (not PS2 or PSP cars)

believe more Sony about 500K polygons.

    No need to argue –
    “Assetto Corsa” is nearly here.

  34. truth

Easy to hit full HD and 60 fps if nothing is real time. All pre-rendered shadows and lighting effects. Seems to me turn 10 is afraid to push or use new technology. Same old since forza 3. They need to add real time shadows, dynamic lighting and effects. Improve there physics model. Still way to unrealistic. Rear wheel drive cars do understeer by the way :/. We day night cycle and weather. They have been claiming this is a true next gen forza :/ not really if all you’ve done is bump the res up update the car list and added one or two new light reflections.

    #34 1 year ago
  35. Opalauge

EXACTLY! It’s coming for current gen. It’s a build that also runs on current gen (with inferior grafics of course)! Rain and all the effects are nice, but they also look generic, artificial and sterile (GT5 has rain…ever played it?!?).
The textures are great, and that is the main difference. Sure it looks great, but in detail the car models and sourroundings are definetly not better than Forza 5…on the contrary. Definetly less detailed models and inferior varnish textures and effects (the reflections are pretty medicore in fact).
GT5 has 200k poly-models in the show room. pCars also will not have 200k poly-models on track…only in the photo mode. Ingame it will be 50k + polys (at a distance of 0-10 meters).
