Battlefield 4 weapon customisation and adaptive camo discussed by DICE

Battlefield 4 developer DICE has shed new light on the extend of the shooter’s gun customisation, as well as adaptive camo that reacts to whatever environment you’re playing in. Sounds a bit ‘MGS 4′ doesn’t it?

The clip above sees lead core game designer Alan Kert discussing gun customisation with presenter of EA’s FTW show Matt Cuttle.

Kert shows off the game’s load-out menus as he tinkers about with a range of stocks, camo designs and more. It seems the series has expanded considerably in how players can personalise their gun of choice.

What do you think?

Battlefield 4 comes to PC, PS3 and Xbox 360 on October 29 in North America, then November 1 in Europe. It’s out November 15 on the PlayStation 4 and November 22 on the Xbox One in the States.

Great. You can horse about with the colour and appearance of guns.

But can you talk to squad mates with a viable, non-friends-list dependant communication system?

It’s all very well putting tinsel on the game, but is the bare metal up to the task? Critical features which are far more important than this kind of window-dressing are not being mentioned. Which worries me.

“Seven classes are too complex so we’ll use four” but seven million gun combinations aren’t? Ah, because you can make paid DLC out out the guns and not the team player classes? Shallow.

Four classes with medics shooting assault rifles is the main reason I’m not getting this game anytime soon. Do they even know 64 players can’t join 5 player teams to fill them?
