GTA 5 for PS4 and PC outed by Xbox 360 source code – report

Monday, 16th September 2013 16:09 GMT By Sherif Saed

You can add this to the list of leaks and slips pertaining to GTA V’s arrival on other platforms. Mention of PC and PlayStation 4 versions of Grand Theft Auto 5 have allegedly been found in the code of the Xbox 360 version of the game.

The game has already been leaked and found its way to torrent sites, leading some users to snoop around in the source code.

Cinemablend is reporting (via NeoGaf) that a user on 4Chan found mention of Playstation 4 and PC versions in the code. The file mentioned “Orbis” which is the operating system of the dev kits of PS4 and curiously, there’s no mention of Xbox One.

The information was posted on a -now removed- Pastebin page. It contained nearly 2,000 lines of code from the game, and while it’s very common that a game would use the same code for all versions, these mentions should be taken with a grain of salt as it cannot be taken as confirmation that other versions are in the works. You can find the screenshot showing the mention in the gallery below.

GTA V is out tomorrow for Xbox 360 and PS3, get all the review scores here and make sure you also read Dave’s impressions of it.

Ah well yes, you might want take your own advice and remove the ‘report’ from the header of this article and label it as a rumor until proper conformation.

The PC bit doesn’t mean much – a lot of dev is done on PCs, before being optimized for consoles.

Bet Rockstar won’t be disappointed in MS over this leak like they were with Sony over the audio leak.

Of course it’s coming to PC, as all the previous version did. The only thing is will it come to both next gen consoles first, or before?

I seriously hope a next gen release will also mean being able to play online with PS3/360 people. If Rockstar does re-release it next year there’s only going to be 2-3 million next gen console owners.

Its not a surprise if GTA V is coming out for pc. Because lately all Grand Theft Auto games have came out 6 to 12 months after the console release. Due to internet piracy. The Xbox one and PS4 version maybe will come out like something early next year or maybe a surprise this holiday.

Sure R* needs money and btw all videos looks like PS4/PC graphic… it’s simple to see that cuz every official video have a high framerate there is no tearing etc.

So GTA 5 is upcoming maybe Januar 2014…

    Btw look at that screenshots

Oh, don’t be ridiculous. The 360 version is up on torrent sites already, and anyone with a cracked 360 (which isn’t that hard to do) can play it. In fact, it’s even safer than pirating on the PC because there’s no risk of malware. Many smart PC gamers avoid piracy because it’s more trouble than it’s worth, since you don’t know what goodies a talented coder might have snuck in there, stuff a malware scanner wouldn’t even be aware of.
