Grand Theft Auto 5 pre-load option on European PSN delayed until September 15

Friday, 13th September 2013 16:23 GMT By Stephany Nunneley

Grand Theft Auto 5 can now be downloaded on Sunday, September 15 in Europe on PSN, Sony and Rockstar have both stated on Twitter.

Earlier today it was noted on the European forums that pre-loading of the game will be delayed until September 16 – the day before the game releases – but that has since been changed.

Original story is as follows:

This has, of course, caused some outrage on the European forums, as pre-loading was to start today.

Customers who had pre-ordered the title through PSN would have been able to start the 17GB download today and the game would have then been activated come September 17.

Many users are worried that the PSN servers will not be able to handle the download bombardment, and that these perceived issues will keep users from acquiring their game at launch.

Pre-loading is not an option on PSN outside of Europe, and some of those who pre-ordered the game from retail cancelled their reservations in order to take advantage of the pre-download option.

Because of this, many are saying they are also unable to removed the funds for the pre-order through their PlayStation Wallet, so they can use the credit reverse to purchase a physical copy now.

There’s more from users through the link.

Thanks, MCV.

This is why I still buy physical games. Maybe the next-gen will be better with this, here’s hoping!

They better improve their network infrastructure before PS4 launches.

Huge focus on digital games, and their downloadspeed at the moment is horrible.

Hopefully atleast the game will be available 00:00 UK Time on the 17th and not like 7 PM or something. That would be a BIG FUCK UP.

How is this even a deal? I’m sure we can download the game on Monday ready for Tuesday straight away. The download speeds of psn are fine, you can’t play it till Tuesday regardless of downloading it today or Monday. Mines pre ordered on psn, blame the hackers for this delay, not Sony… Hackers fuck it up for all of us, the scroats

I got mine off psn on the 23rd before it was taken down, it sucks for anyone who is waiting to download it because there servers are going to struggle with all the traffic on Monday. I hope everyone whose getting it has high speed internet.

#2 that mostly depends on where you life.

Not every country gets great servers.

Same with Steam on PC and other consoles.

You cant expect them to put server farms in every country.

I get full speed here in Germany and game servers are hosted in Germany aswell so my ping is always 2-25ms.

But that cant be offered to every country.

We have plenty of big data centres here because we are one of Europe’s nerve centers in terms of bandwidth exchange and server hosting+transatlantic cables are here aswell.

@9 Loki, the chances of GTA V coming to PC is pretty high since every other GTA for PC has been announced after the games releases on consoles.

Every GTA for PC has been announced after console release, I dont see why they would change now.

(((Edit))) – WOW didnt see that the petition was to try and make Rockstar not make a PC version, dont lump every person who plays games on PC a pirate. I bet if it was as easy to pirate games on a PS3 and 360 it would be rampant on those consoles to. fact is, not every PC gamer is a pirate.

    You sir, are a cunt.

    i saw a few walkthroughs

they casualized the fuck of this game, regenerating health, slow mo ablities in driving, dumb enemy A.I
and overall cooky cutter characters no one seems to like (the rich guy is decent, but still boring, just boring characters, no match to john marston or niko bellic)

i can tell you friends, that this GTA, doesn’t really feel much of a GTA

missons get clickhe, it’s go there, kill this, chase that
    steal that,etc…

as for stores, well remember going to seperate stores to buy cloths, guns and tattos in san andres? well now it’s everything in one store

it’s like skate 2 store next to skate 1, it’s boring, it doesn’t feel real enough
and the fact you can keep track of your progress by ranks you get when completing missions kinda sucks if you get a low grade

i’ll be waiting for this on a sale,60$ for nothing new/amazing is no deal for me

Why must they force their stupidity onto me? Just burn the game to disc and sell it to Game and Gamestation shops so I can go into one and buy the game. Not everyone can afford quick internet speeds. Why are they limiting their so-called “service” to a few customers when they could be giving it to loads like they used to? FFS! Stupid people! Grow a f*cking brain!

Trying to understand what the fuck noamlol2 was saying, they PURPOSELY make games shit after they made really good ones because they know you’ll buy them so they get more money, then they make a better game because they know you’ll buy them so they get more money. Look at GTA: SA – that was an effing awesome game when it first came out. Then look at LCS and VCS – both shit; then GTA 4 – mediocre depending on gameplay or graphics. Now with GTA: V and reading some comments and the idiots’ stupidity by not selling physical discs for the PC at the same time as the Xbox and PS, I expect it to be shit. Simply, people, DON’T BUY THE SHIT! That actually WILL teach them, believe it or don’t. “But I want to play it and be the first to know how awesome it is!” Grow the fuck up. It’s us versus them. WE are the customers and WE know what we want; not those corporate money grabbers. Don’t buy the game AT ALL, and it will cause them to panick because they wasted so much money.

P.S. Why didn’t they make a GTA: SAS? So they get more money. THAT is why.

Yeah, Hcw87, they are COMPLETELY retarded for not letting people know. But a question to ask is how do they know what will happen when the game hasn’t been released yet?!
