Square Enix is at least still thinking about taking Final Fantasy Type-0 to the West
The PSP-exclusive Final Fantasy Type-0, released in late 2011, exists only in Japanese form, and no plans for a Western release have ever been disclosed. However, new Square Enix West CEO Phil Rogers mentioned responded to one of the many requests for a localized version of the game (courtesy mainly of these folks) in the comments of a blog post, promising that he’s looking into it.
“I’ve seen your Facebook page and I hear your question clearly. I’ve posted on the blog that this is one of the first questions I’m going to tackle. It’s not a quick question to answer but I’m looking into it and I’ll update everyone when I can. But I mentioned (again on the blog) that I don’t want to get hopes up as localising previously released games sometimes isn’t possible when the team have moved onto other projects. But I will look into this thoroughly.”
Not super exciting, but at least it’s on their minds.
HOWEVER, the quote above is pretty similar to one made by Hajima Tabata in November: “We feel strongly about bringing this title to the fans in North America and Europe, so if an opportunity arises that can become a conclusive factor, we are prepared to go into consideration right away.”
Thanks for the heads up, Lengendaryboss.
