Wargaming boss: Gas Powered Games working on “something that is going to eclipse everything we have done”

Ever since Wargaming swooped in and purchased Gas Powered Games and gave the studio a second life after their failed Kickstarter, everyone has been cagey about what the studio has been up to, aside from revealing that Wild Man is dead. But when Wargaming chief Victor Kislyi spoke with AusGamers at the PAX Down Under, he talked up this secret project a bit. Or a lot.

“[Gas Powered Games founder] Chris Taylor in Seattle is doing something great, but it’s too early to talk about this, because it’s still experimenting, and there’s still some prototyping, and throwing ideas around, but that is definitely going to be something that is going to eclipse everything we have done before.”

Considering the relatively insane popularity of World of Tanks, that’s saying something. But there is almost certainly an element of hypespeak there, and probably a big one. On the other hand, we are talking about the studio that created a game that was adapted into a movie by Uwe Boll, so…
