Dead Rising 3 bigger than first two combined, vidoc and demo escape Comic Con

Sunday, 21st July 2013 23:41 GMT By Brenna Hillier

Lots of Dead Rising 3 goodies await you this morning, thanks to a San Diego Comic Con blow out on the Xbox One launch title.

Microsoft and Capcom showed the game during a panel at Comic Con at which the platform holder also demonstrated Kinect’s facial scan technology, among other topics. You can check out a video documentary the two companies released below, along with off-screen footage of a gameplay demo, which has not yet been released to press.

According to GameInformer‘s report on the panel, executive producer Josh Bridge showed a slide comparing the size of Dead Rising 3′s world with both previous games – the maps for Dead Rising 1 and 2 could both fit inside Dead Rising 3′s at the same time, with room to spare.

If you’re interested in seeing a little more of our hero in a mankini, ala the header image above, nobody’s judging you; just hit up Capcom Unity.

Dead Rising 3 was originally planned as an Xbox 360 title but surpassed the limits of what the current-gen console could do. It’s now expected as an Xbox One launch title in November this year.

Looks pretty damn good, never really got into the first two games though.

MS seems to be having one hell of an exclusive here. That fps at times though…ouch.

Glad to hear about the large map. It didn’t look that big when they showed it before. Wonder how many hours to complete the story.

I really like what they’ve shown at e3 and it was one of the exclusive that convinced me to get a Xbox one. After seeing this video I’m glad I made this choice, look super fun!

I dont know if they used a PC or an actual xbox one this time, but the framrate is AWFUL. Most of the time its below 30. Pretty baaad.

It looks good fun, it’s a shame I won’t be able to play it.

Game = looks really awesome and finally feels like Dead Rising.
Frame-rate = MY GOD. That was bad.

Really, REALLY hope they fix frame-rate for final version because that could really hurt. With proper frame-rate and no load times, this game can become the ultimate DR experience.

As a massive fan of the series i’m not at all impressed by the changes. Graphically it looks ok but wheres the comedy? the ludicrous setting? They’ve even removed the timer and case files! which practically define the series’ gameplay. The time constraints are what build the tension in the series. It just looks like a generic zombie hack and slash in a game world I feel i’ve played dozens of other games in over the years
