With 40 hours left on the clock, DarkSeas Games’ Road Redemption Kickstarter has been funded. The initial funding goal was $160,000, and 3,929 backers funded it with $163,315 in pledges. You can find out more on the game which is currently slated for a PC, Mac and Linux in July, and Wii U some time this year, through the link.

For $163,566 it better be a decent Road Rash..

@1 that funds like 4 people to work on a game for a year, that’s nothing.

Steph, it’s “Road Redemption”, not “Road Rash Redemption”.
    Easy mistake to make. :)

They’ve been working since early 2012, #3.. Now with these $163,566 they ‘re going to finish it.

I’m more worried about the fact that it has guns. In Road Rash you had batons, crowbars, chains and pipes, and it wasn’t easy to hit people in the face, especially in RR 3D. Say no to guns… :<

@8 they’re about 10k from their stretch goal to fund a 360 port.

@9 the devs implied that they’re acutely aware of misgivings surrounding guns, and they’re going to ensure those weapons – besides the fact that you’d be firing them from one fast moving vehicle at a rider of another – see what they had to say on the subject:

@9 why not stretch it to a platform like ps3 that actually support indie games, and a system that most people in the world have. you know there is europe and asia etc out there, they are much bigger than the xbox country usa. more money to be earned why limit yourself… on pc 90% will pirate this, on wii-u 99% will not buy it, and the x360 no one will even bother… so you end up with a 10% of earning when you could have like 90%. i say that ain’t a good business

Why? Simple: shitty indie support, not developer friendly, poor online and store, abysmal interface and disappointed customers.

They’ve made the Xbox 360 version stretch goal, with now under an hour remaining in the campaign!
