Minecraft Pocket Edition sales top 10 million

The mobile version of Minecraft has almost caught up to its Mac and PC mothership in terms of sales, and will be updated shortly.

Mojang has announced that Mineraft Pocket edition passed the 10 million sales mark yesterday.

The Android and iOS affair, which launched as a timed Xperia Play exclusive, is not as feature-rich as other versions, but Mojang said its been working hard on the back-end to make it easier to update quickly.

The developer is testing a couple of cool new features - the ability to opt-in to gameplay systems only available on high-end devices, and something called Minecraft Realms, which should make it easier for players to build worlds together.

An update is due to roll out by the end of May, if all goes well, and will bring buckets, among other goodies. A new trailer is below.
