Supreme Commander 2 gets surprising major patch

Here’s a patch from out of left field, where “left field” means “three years after release and two years since the last title update”.

Much-loved RTS Supreme Commander 2 has received a hefty overhaul, making significant changes to the economy, particular with regards to Mass Extractor Veterancy.

Supreme Commander develoepr Gas Powered Games came close to closing down for good after a failed last-ditch Kickstarter, but was recently bought out by Wargaming.net.

“There’s nothing of any significance to the timing of the patch,” Steve Bauman told PC Gamer; the update has been in the works for two years.

Full patch notes are available on Steam.

Thanks, PCGamesN.

It wouldn’t be the first time they spent their own money patching one of their games.

Man, thats great! Just started replaying SupCom 2 after, finishing SupCom 1 and SupCom FA for the first time recently. But, didn’t feel like playing SupCom 2 any further after playing the splendour, that is 1 and FA.

Hope this improves.

Err, since when was SupCom 2 “much-loved”? Almost everyone who enjoyed the first SC (and TA before that) was greatly disappointed with SC2.
