Battlefield 2142 easter egg found in Battlefield 3: End Game

Wednesday, 6th March 2013 13:25 GMT By Dave Cook

Battlefield 3′s End Game DLC plays home to an easter egg linked to DICE’s futuristic shooter Battlefield 2142.

Thanks to KingEmperorPure for the clip.

The dropship bears the insignia of a Battlefield 2142 faction, and can be seen flying around Kharg Island after you install the DLC.

This probably isn’t an indication that a new futuristic shooter is on the way, but it is rather neat. it follows a weird Mirror’s Edge easter egg found in DICE’s previous DLC pack ‘Aftermath. Watch it in action here.

Thanks PCGamesN.

    Hehe, Awesome!

    Hope that’s a sign of where they are taking BF4.

    Don’t you mean Battlefield 2143, or are you actually referring to the older Battlefield 2142?

    Nice touch. I havent got BF3 because its origin only. I simply loved 2142 with its 64 player maps.

    @3 “Battlefield 2142 has been out for a while” Yes, I know it has, but…

    The video is merely speculating that the dropship is a hint at Battlefield 2143, which it isn’t. it’s just an easter egg from Battlefield 2142.

    “Since 2143 is probably what DICE is working on” – how do we know that? I can’t say that unless we hear something tangible I’m afraid.

    There was a 2143 Easter egg on the Wake Island map of Back To Karkand, several crates on the island had 2143 stencilled on them.

    @3 nice stealth edit ;)

    I wasn’t having a go at you, just making clear why I wrote what I did.

    @2 That’s bad news for me then :(

    Got over 200 hours on BF3, not really looking for another modern day shooter. Loved 2142, would have loved 2143.
