Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn’s final alpha test starts next week

Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn will be the recipient of a fourth alpha test starting next week and running until mid-December. An extra world will be added so more players can participate, even though the test will include 40 areas which can accommodate 1,000 players at once. Still, it’s better to be safe than sorry. This will be the final alpha test for the MMO, but the development team is considering leaving the worlds open until the end of the year. More information is available through the latest producer’s letter.

For some weird ass reason…I still want to try this MMO out. But I’d still have to wait for the PS3 version, which is still even farther away from being done than this PC version I’m assuming lol. Ah well, better late than never right?

@1 Me too even though the PC version has gotten a horrible response. I don’t understand why they are not doing a beta for the PS3 as well. Even when they do get things worked out on the PC that doesn’t mean it will work on console. The interface and controls are going to have to be way more streamlined for the console or we will be fumbling around in menus forever and have clunky controls. You think they would allow us to participate in the beta as well to give input from the console standpoint.

Alpha test is strictly stress testing. It is primarily just for testing the server architecture. Whatever feedback they get from the Alpha test, it will be adjusted for the Beta test in parallel with the PS3 version Beta.

And, both PC and PS3 will be launching at the same time in 2013.
