NCSoft posts Q2 loss in competitive MMO market
NCSoft, publisher of Guild Wars 2 and Lineage 2 has posted a loss in revenue as a result of the increasingly competitive F2P and MMO markets.

GI.Biz reports that for the financial quarter ending June 30 2012, NCSoft revealed a revenue of ₩146.8 billion, which is around $130m, indicating a 12% loss from last year.
The lion’s share of that figure comes from NCSoft’s online gaming business, sitting at ₩123.3 billion.
Comparatively NCSoft made a profit of ₩41.3 billion / $36m in Q2 2011, but has now posted a loss of ₩7.3 billion / $6m for Q2 2012.
Can the release of Guild Wars 2 turn this trend around? We’ll know when it releases August 28.

I don’t think this is that bad considering they have one of their biggest launches set for the next financial quarter. I wouldn’t be surprised if they posted a profit.

I would imagine once Guild Wars 2 is released, this will all change….
