Square-Enix backs OUYA, Final Fantasy 3 is launch title

So they’re investing £5 in it then. That’s what it will cost them to release the already made, already HD’d, already Androided title on the format. Ballpark. If three people buy it, they’ll have made a profit.

5$ or 10$ investment from Square Enix is something. They are providing small support for a console that is not even out.

It’s still doing great in Kickstarter with 5 million bucks.

My thoughts exactly . If this the support they are going to give it then we can be sure how much ouya will succeed . You can play ff3 only on pc ps3 360 psp ds 3ds vita ios android and ouya which runs on android. THE KILLER APP I HAVE BEEN WAITING FOR OUYA. DAY ONE Buy now.

@3 that’s true, but I think that the fact that a company like Square Enix have announced they will ‘release some of their games’ onto OUYA might persuade other companies to also do the same, setting up some backbone for OUYA’s release.

Either way this does no harm and can only do good.

Well, what did you expect them to do? Spend 500k on a brand new android game based on new IP, for a console that’s not even out and whose chances of succeeding are slimmer than the Xperia Play’s?

I say FF3 on OUYA is great. This game is meant to be played with a gamepad anyway.

@4 and 5, agree. While some folks will be negitive, I don’t see the problem. I would expect to see a lot of this type of offerings. Companies love easy money.
