Nintendo roundtable wrap-up: Virtual Console, F-Zero, Miiverse spoiler controls

A couple of interesting new factoids came out of Nintendo’s Wii U hardware round-table today, not the least of which is an idea of how Nintendo plans to keep inappropriate content and spoilers out of MiiVerse.

As reported by Eurogamer, Nintendo’s Katsuya Eguchi told press Nintendo hopes to crowd source spoiler control in the Wii U social hub. Players will be able to mark posts as containing spoilers, and to flag others for review by Nintendo staff.

To keep the signal to noise ratio high, players will only be able to comment on games they’ve actually played.

Another aspect of the roundtable that has generated quite a lot of buzz is the appearance of F-Zero in a new NintendoLand demonstration; Shack reports a race was shown but no details were given. Nevertheless, the attraction’s appearance has reignited hopes that Nintendo plans to revisit the porperty.

Other NintendoLand attractions spotted include Donkey Kong, Zelda and Animal Crossing. GoNintendo reports it’s not clear whether Nintendoland will be a stand-alone product or packaged with the Wii U.

The round table also confirmed an earlier report that Nintendo is planning to allow players to transfer Virtual Content purchased for Wii to their Wii U’s. As noted earlier, the company is vague on how it will actually work; Joystiq reports the system is still in preparatory stages.

A few other little snippets emerged, including disappointing news that planned 3DS and Wii U Mario games will not connect to each other, as they’re being developed by entirely separate teams.
