Pachter predicts pre-E3 GTA V showing, Oct 23 launch

Michael Pachter has joined in with that ever growing E3 conga line by sticking his neck out on a pre-show Grand Theft Auto V blowout.

The Wedbush Morgan analyst said in a Pach-Attack segment in the latest GTTV, where PlayStation All Stars: Battle Royale was announced, Rockstar would properly announce first details on the game the day before the show begins.

"They've outgrown the show. I think they’re way too cool to go," he said, noting recent absences from the show in the past few years.

The last involvement the company had with the show in any form was the announcement of Agent at Sony's E3 presser three years ago. We're still yet to see the North-made game in action since.

Pachter added: "My read on those guys is they like stealing the thunder from everything else. So if I had to bet, I'd say you'd get an announcement on GTA V the day before E3 starts, that'd be Monday, June 4. they don't show up and that's all anybody can do is talk about GTA V at the show ."

Sony and Microsoft both hold its E3 press conferences on June 4.

He went on to say he expects the game to launch on October 23, a few days after BioShock Infinite - he actually called it "BioShock 2" - adding that Rockstar "don't care about the 2K game". Word to wise: we highly think that's very unlikely.

GTA V was announced last November with a trailer, but left more questions than answers besides confirmation of a Los Santos setting.
