Capcom hopes Dragon's Dogma will appeal to Monster Hunter fans

Despite its classic fantasy aesthetic, Capcom expects Dragon's Dogma to tick a few boxes for millions and millions of Monster Hunter fans.

"We think that Monster Hunter fans out there will like Dragon's Dogma as well," producer Hiroyuki Kobayashi said, speaking to Destructoid.

"Even though the action's not the same, they'll find a lot of elements, a lot of Capcom action elements, that they'll really enjoy."

Kobayashi noted that one of the core differences between the two games is the grab mechanic; characters can grab enemies, and enemies can grab characters, to various effect.

The producer also reiterated that the main questline is up to 50 hours long, and that when sidequests are considered, the game could offer over 200 hours of content.

Dragon's Dogma is due in May, on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. See the full interview, and plenty of gameplay footage, below.
