Final Fantasy Versus XIII reveal mysteriously stymied

Tetusya Nomura has said a promised Final Fantasy Versus XIII reveal has been held up, but could not explain why.

Speaking to Famitsu, as reported by Andriasang, Nomura said the new demo is very nearly ready, but won’t be on show soon.

Frustratingly, he couldn’t explain why, citing “totally unrelated” circumstances reasons. Nomura said he couldn’t discuss the problem and can only try to remedy it through ongoing discussions.

In January, the director and producer said the game would soon be shown as a real time demo, having made multiple references to an imminent reveal over the preceding months.

The RPG has failed to make an appearance at any Square Enix attended event since.

Final fantasy Versus XIII has been in development since at least 2007, but apparently only went into “full” production in September 2011. It has gone stealth for long periods in the interim, and was last seen over a year ago.

It’s been six years since the announcement.

I wonder how many people who saw that frustratingly beautiful trailer in 2006, and had hoped to play the game, are now dead. And who knows how many will die before it actually hits the shelves, some seven to eight years from the announcement.

This is so unbelievable.

I personally have lost ALOT of interest in this one! As Diavolt said we have not really seen anything proper since 2006/7!! There was something last year but nothing to hold my appetite for FF (XIII and XIII-2 has and will do that) But till i see anything new this is a little meh to me atm :(

The original story doesn’t say anything about a “demo”. Nomura just said he won’t be able to share new INFO for now. Actually, there is nothing to learn here.
