Quick quotes: Kinect support for Child of Eden came from Ubisoft CEO
“Yves is a unique CEO. He is obsessive with ideas, and he likes to get involved with games. Using Kinect in Child of Eden, for example, was his idea. He had seen this cool new technology and had the idea.” – Ubisoft director of IP Tommy Francois, speaking at a GDC dinner on how Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot inspired the Kinect support for Child of Eden.
Thanks, Develop.

Funny, just recently in Johnny’s Sony article, Child OF Eden was mentioned as an example of MS’s forward thinking. I mentioned then that MS had nothing to do with it, and even when offered to use it as a demo in their E3 presentation, declined to do so.
After the abysmal little kids playing Kinect, they realized their mistake. Eden is probably the best example of the Kinect be used for a normal style game, and MS turned it down.
edit – Oh and I like that Johnny posted the article lol…
