Rez creator Miziguchi leaves game production, moves to spokesperson role

Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi has distanced himself from games production at Q Entertainment, and has now stepped into a spokesperson role at the company. THe studio revealed Miziguchi's shift in focus at TGS today.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Q Entertainment director Nobuhiko Shimizu stated, "Right now Mizuguchi does not produce the games. He's now more of a spokesperson. He's not developing stuff right now."

Miziguchi moved into his new role following work on Child of Eden, his spiritual follow-up to Rez. Although the iconic developer displayed a fondness for music-based games, Shimzu revealed that the trend would continue.

"We are now thinking about combining music games with card-battle games. We now have several productions to develop that kind of game," Shimzu added.

Thanks Eurogamer.
