Rez creator Tetsuya Mizuguchi becomes university professor

Tetsuya Mizuguchi, creator of Rez and Child of Eden has resigned from Q Entertainment and has taken up a new role as a Professor at Keio University. He will continue to support the studio as an advisor only.

Recently, Q Entertainment confirmed that Miziguchi would no longer be making games for the studio, but that he would continue on as a spokesperson.

Director Nobuhiko Shimizu stated, “Right now Mizuguchi does not produce the games. He’s now more of a spokesperson. He’s not developing stuff right now.”

Eurogamer reports that Miziguchi has now stepped away from that role as well, and has turned his attention to the Graduate School of Media Design at Keio University, where he will work as a Professor.

Miziguchi has also stepped down from Q Entertainment's Board of Directors to focus on his new teaching role.

It's a loss for the studio, but imagine having him as a teacher though, that'd be ace.
