CS: GO’s first trailer is live, details drops from playtest
GTTV’s aired the first trailer for Valve’s Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, as details on the game emerge from playtests at the company’s Washington HQ.
Kotaku reports that while PC gamers will have its normal control options open to them, with 360 owners only able to use a gamepad, PS3 users will have the choice of either a DualShock, PlayStation Move and even a keyboard and mouse. That might be worth mentioning again:keyboard and mouse. On PS3.
The game will also release with five maps for Bomb/Defuse mode, with two others for Hostage Rescue. All seven maps are based from Counter-Strike 1.6 and Counter-Strike Source.
Cross-platform play between PC/Mac and PS3 players, similar to that of Portal 2, was also confirmed, with players being brought together based on skill and regardless of what it uses to control the game on either platform.
A beta will also kick off in October, with PAX and Eurogamer Expo attendees getting beta codes.

Not sure about gun models (maybe am too used to CoD/BC2, where the gun is bigger in your FOV), but does look nice.

I’m really looking forward to this. I must have played a good 3/400 hours of CSS over the years. Aztec looks excellent, I do hope they bring back some of the old classics like 747.
Sort of tempted to head down to the Eurogamer Expo to give it a try.

Seriously Valve, WTF?!@ We waited how fucking long for a New Counter Strike and you give us this piece of steaming shit?! With all the amazing developments in Graphics and animation, you give us a game that looks like a slightly higher res Source?!
FFS Valve, CS was the most played FPS in the world and besides perhaps COD, the most well known name in FPS gaming and you take an amazing, delayed dump on it and it’s players by not dedicating a large portion of your time and effort to it.
Please give the rights to this franchise to a company that will respect it’s gamers and give CS the respect it deserves before you destroy it forever.

That’s just what was visible on the weapon wheel. It seems to me like there should be a lot more guns, since those are mostly western. I’d expect the terrorists to use different light machineguns.

@17, CS also wasn’t the most played fps because it was shit. It was freaking awesome, however this new instalment (and I use that word extremely loosely) is a complete bag of wank. CZ was slightly looked down when compared to 1.6 but at least it kept the gameplay and mechanics and the formula. This piece of crap on the other hand is just using the CS name to cash in.
