Quick Shots - Dark Souls screens show multiplayer

Namco Bandai has released a number of new Dark Souls screens to Japanese media, showing off some of the game's multiplayer mechanics.

GameWatch had these, along with a number of mysterious auto-translate comments.

Seen in one screen is a "golden knight", summoned by a player. It's not clear if this is an NPC or a special phantom, but it's not a bog-standard co-op session, because that's also pictured - see the two knights back to back, one of them outlined in white?

Two more multiplayer phantoms are seen - the blue and red raiders. Both seem to be hostile to the host player, and may be the Pyromancer and Gravelord mentioned in recent coverage.

You can even catch a glimpse of two NPC characters, both working at a forge.

Dark Souls is due on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 in early October, and is the spiritual successor to Demon's Souls. Schwing.
