Rumor – Alan Wake: Night Springs in development at Remedy
An “extremely trusted” source close to XBLAFans has told the site that a new Alan Wake game, subtitled Night Springs, is in development at Remedy for release on Xbox Live.

The source claims to have seen screens from the as of yet unannounced title, and that’s all the information that was handed out.
Night Springs is the name of a paranormal show which plays on TV sets in Alan Wake.
Remedy’s head of franchise, Oskari Hakkinen, told Eurogamer earlier last week that a new Alan Wake was to be expected, bu that it would not be a sequel to the original or would any extra DLC be released for it.
Job listings posted by Remedy last year had the firm hiring for a “AAA project” on Xbox 360, with the firm also announcing it was looking for a programmer with Kinect experience for the “next iteration” of the Alan Wake engine.
We’ll send a mail.
Via Eurogamer.
Thanks, Mike.

The fact that they are releasing an xbox live title mean they have no confidence.

What is that supposed to mean? Any devs who release games on xbla don’t have confidence in themselves?

Hmmmmm….. not sure about this.
Although this would concur with the developers statement “enable new fans of the series to “finally jump on board.”
Originally i thought the above statement meant multi-plat. But an arcade title would allow those who don’t have original game to make smaller investment.
Could be interesting…

Well they obviously know how Microsoft’s marketing works: If you’re not Halo or Gears go fuck yourself.

I want a full retail sequel or at least a real spin-off not some downloadable kinect game based on in-game TV shows.

i love Alan Wake, but i’m scared to hear any more news on it, i just know that they’re going to fuck it up by making it a kinect-only title of something.

Ehhh what? How do you think does it work? They’ll just say to MS: “Hey guys we’ll make a new Alan Wake game and you’re sponsoring us kk?” They’re not in the position to make such decisions. It has nothing to do with confidence or anything else…
Sometimes I ask myself how some people think the industry works

I’d take an XBLA game over a fucking Kinect non-game any day.

@Blerk: Me too. And I even listened to those radio programs… I have always loved these little shows in Remedy’s games.
