Bulletstorm demo now live on Live Marketplace – shots, video

bulletstorm7

As well as releasing the Crysis 2 MP demo, EA’s also put out a taster for Bulletstorm this morning on Xbox Live.

Check out shots and video after the break.

The demo comes in at 1.08Gb. This will appear on PS3 today and tomorrow, depending on where you are.

The demo will allow players to get a feel of the OTT PCF shooter’s Echo Mode, as main character Grayson Hunt uses the Skillshot System to “crush enemies in increasingly creative ways to rack up points using an arsenal of powerful weapons.”

Get it here.

Check out screens and video from the test below.

Game’s out February 22 for PS3, 360 and PC.

One reaction so far on EG, and the reaction appears to be “it’s shit”. :-D

I’ll get media up ASAP. It’s coming down far slower than Crysis.

Hearing all sorts of mixed reports across the net. PSN update can’t come soon enough.

You need to quantify just how much fun you expected it to be, EscoBlades. :-D

What’s with the subs in those pictures? Are they real? They look like they were written by a moron.

“Any-hoo, here’s the skinny”

That’s from an intro movie bit at the beginning. It’s just to show you the concept before you start playing.

I came away more impressed than I thought I would be, it runs smooth, controls well and I had fun fucking about. Its stupid as all hell but then again so was Painkiller so im not really all that surprised.

If you don’t enjoy old style FPS games like Serious Sam etc then you are never ever going to get on with this game, the thing is though is that the game does not give a shit if you like it or not, it panders to no one really. It just seems to do what does really fucking well.

Over charged whip, 4 dudes in the air, shoot three, kick the last one off the building when he lands.

LOADSA MONEY. I mean points.

Well done Pat, I think you’ve broken YouTube. Froze up at the 3min mark for me. Working okay again now though.

So you’re not going to try it Blerk? :/

No, it looks (and sounds) puerile.

Ack! Don’t be so snooty :) Are you not even tempted by the fun you could have with the skillshot system?

Not even a little bit? :)

It is.

Its great. Its been fucking ages since theres been a braindead shooter thats reveled in the fact that its a braindead shooter.

No, not even a little bit. Even if I discount my inner snootiness, it just doesn’t look any fun.

@22

I agree.

I would much rather ‘pucker my asshole’ than play the umpteenth modern shooter game that is based on ‘Real conflicts’ with real soldiers facing ‘Real issues’ etc…

Every once in a while it’s good to just kick back and play an FPS that doesn’t give two shits and let’s you know it.

WAR BULLETSTORM!

I adore the fact that the deep moral quandaries of Bulletstorm is whether I kick you into this thing, or kick you off this thing.

I also think because its stupid as hell it does not mean that emergent gameplay can’t spring from it, I imagine the co-op aspects bolted onto the skill set could lead to some insane showboating teamwork.

Like three whippy over charge things happening at once.

If I download crysis will I be able to play it?
It says closed beta.

I had high expectations for this and they’re (almost) fullfilled.

The controlls/aiming is a bit shaky in the beginning, but if you play it two or three times in a row, than you enjoy the face kicking and mutants blasting even more. Really surprised how good this game works on consoles, really looking forward to this, even more now.

Btw, PC version should be the shit although I’m not going to get it :/

It’s awesome! Finally another game that takes the same line as Serious Sam, Painkiller (I know, same developer) and Duke Nukem.

Action non-stop!

I hope that Doom 4 goes back to the roots, too, and delivers something like the old school Dooms. *sighs*

Well, I definitely have zero intention of buying it after the lovely insult they decided to throw at me right at the end of the demo.
