Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception revealed in EW report, confirmed for 2011 – teaser inside

Holy balls, Nate! Uncharted 3: Drake’s Deception has just been revealed in a just-published Entertainment Weekly report.

It will take place in the desert, as previously thought, and will feature Nathan Drake as he searches for a lost city which will see him at he Arabian Peninsula and the vast wasteland of the Rub’ al Khali Desert, with deception being a key theme to Uncharted 3′s story.

“When we first came up with the idea of sand, you see everyone’s eyes light up here and go, ‘Yeah, that’s going to be really hard — let’s do it!’,” said Naughty Dog main writer, Amy Hennig.

“We’re a bunch of nerds. We just look for something that will be a technical, artistic challenge, and allowed us to push into an area of the world and history we’ve never tapped into before,” added co-president, Evan Wells.

Story will also centre on the relationship of Drake and mentor Sully.

More time will also be spent on the game’s multiplayer, according to EW, and its co-op. But Wells says U3 aims to take on the “big boys.”

““We want to take on the big boys of the multi-player genre,” he said.

“It has become something here at Naughty Dog that will become an important part to all our games.”

The EW report also has the game confirmed for a late 2011 release.

The first teaser trailer for Uncharted 3 is below. It will get its full world premiere at the VGAs this weekend.

Awesome, we all knew this was going to happen. The ending of U2 was kinda an open ending really. I am very happy about this news, but at the same time…sigh…i would have loved a Jak 4 man, damn.

You know when I look back all the way to 2005 and remember all the people spitting on Uncharted it now makes me realize how great it is to say HA! I TOLD YOU SO!

All the XBOTS calling it a Tomb Raider rip off in 2005-06-07 are now eating their words. Some are so delusional to now even say Tomb Raider can’t be compared to it because they’re different games (LMAO!)

The point I’m trying to make is never count your chickens before they hatch. I swear I better not hear this BS at the beginning of next gen like I did this gen. SONY has proved time and time again that they make the best games this industry has ever laid their eyes and hands on.

There is no way in hell you will get a better gaming year on any other platform in 2011 than the PS3. If you still don’t have a PS3 you should be ashamed to call yourself a gamer and realize who’s the real fanboy. Uncharted 3 will single handily take down any title (quality wise) that tries to remotely challenge it…/looking at you GEARS3.

In 2011 SONY will rule again with UC3 as its ACE.

@69, i’ve been meaining to check out those trigger guards, imo the triggers have been the dualshocks biggest downfall since the original psone control pad, i’ve always had them get cramped up inside the controller & even the DS3 hasn’t fixed this properly, it often cramps up & sticks on L2 &/or R2, my DS2 actually had L2 AND R2 get stuck in the actual control, also the sticks could have better support, after a while it wears & becomes sticky, could also be more ergonomically designed for the players hand, who cares if it’s not a traditional dualshock design?

To be honest, if I *was* going to get a PS3, I’d simply just get this bad boy and a set of these.

That said, whilst it does look tempting, I have approximately six whole months of solid play-time for my X360 from the stack of unopened games I have (new additions being Vanquish and Alan Wake, with Castlevania on its way), so I really can’t justify the expense for *another* console I only turn on maybe four or five times a week.

Gheritt make sure you put these on your DualShock for better overall heft and grip. So worth it man. They make holding the controller much better. The SONY ones are in the link. There are 3rd party knock offs out there but they look fugly.

The official SONY ones are the ones you want because they fit around the controller perfectly in every aspect.
Better get them fast too cause they’re hard as hell to find. I’m guessing SONY pulled them cause some baby probably was killed by one. Other than that I have no idea why these are so fucking hard to find.

I have a sweet blue glove around my black DS3 and a black glove around my white DS3. Feels great looks cool, must buy if you want the migration over from the 360 pad to be a smooth transaction.

I don’t remember anyone “spitting” on Uncharted in 2005. Mostly because it wasn’t even announced until the following year at E3.
