The contrast between the people who work in games and the people that play them is sometimes depressing.

Honestly, while funny, this was BlizzCon in a nutshell. Half of the panels were hyper-entitled WoW players bitching Blizzard out for not treating their respective classes like sacred relics touched by the Lord Himself.

And they weren’t politely requesting it, either. I’m talking full-on demands. In some cases, they were even making thinly veiled threats. These people acted less like Blizzard fans and more like Blizzard’s slavemaster – absolutely incredulous when Blizzard wasn’t doing exactly as they said.

I met the Internet in person, and I really didn’t like what I saw.

And this is why I will never go to a game convention.

The internet isn’t that bad, just certain parts of it. People who are casually into Blizzard games don’t go to cons, they don’t care enough.
The show atracts obsesive fans. Gaming still isn’t mainstream enough to have a common sense, casual event for regular people. It’s hardcore only.

From now on Blizzard needs to have that kid do all their voiceovers. Epic.

I was expecting it to be uncomfortable watching, but it seemed to be handled fairly well. Kid was polite and the Blizzard guys admitted they made a mistake.
