Gran Turismo 5's recent delay will be a "short one," SCEE has told Kotaku.

The Polyphony racer was delayed on Wednesday in the US, Europe, and Japan, with the decision made only a day earlier on Tuesday.

SCEA producer Taku Imasaki added of Sony's discontent over the delay, saying it thought it "had a good date"of its previous November 2 release in the US.

GT boss Kazunori Yamauchi personally apologised for the delay, adding PD were "ironing the kinks out."

"There are numerous reasons why we need a little more time, but I'm not going to go into them," an unnamed rep from SCEE told the site.

"What matters is that the delay will be a short one and the game will live up to expectations."

No new date was given when GT5 was delayed, but that is expected to drop by the "end of the month", according to SCEE.
