EVE Online getting new retail SKU just for beginners

Want to try EVE Online but feel it's too hardcore for you? Don't worry, CCP has you covered.

A retail edition of EVE Online has been announced called the Commissioned Officer Edition, and it includes with it an exclusive in-game item dubbed the Cerebral Accelerator.

What the Cerebral Accelerator does, is boost the stats of new players for 30 days, ensuring they don't get "pwned" until familiar with how it all works.

The hand-holding mechanism will only be available through physical retail, and is only good for one character account. Luckily, the package also includes a 30 day paid subscription and a poster featuring advise and tips.

EVE Online: Commissioned Officer Edition will be available for PC starting October 19, which is plenty of time for players to get acquainted with how things work before the Incursion expansion hits in November.
