Riccitello: Dead Space 2′s online will be “innovative”

Worried that your online experience of killing necromorphs in Dead Space 2 will be shit? Worry no more: EA CEO John Riccitello has said the horror’s online experience will be “innovative”.
“It’s got some really innovative online gameplay,” he told Industry Gamers.
He also revealed how much of a fan he is of the Visceral series.
“I’m personally a nut about Dead Space. Rare is it for me to finish a game on more than one platform, but I did in the case of Dead Space, and Dead Space 2 is more than a worthy sequel; it’s going to be a monster. So I’m really, really pleased with that.
“What Dead Space does is it’s a thinking man’s game in addition to being a great action adventure title. So, we get the action in the game, lot of shooting, really different weapons…I love the puzzles. I love that to conquer this game you have to use your brain.”
Last year, before the official announcement of the game, a job listing popped up which indicated that it would have online, a first for the series.
Never the less, it’s still awesome shit. This will be ome of EA’s big hitters next week in LA, as well as EA’s press conference. Get the skinny on that here.
Dead Space 2 releases in 2011 for PS3, 360 and PC.

Who’s betting it’ll be more dumbed down then the original?
Side note, i played the new earthworm jim trial last night and when you reached the boss a message popped up telling you to “shoot the boss and jump over him when he charges” This made me feel fucking sick. All this fucking hand holding can absolutely ruin games, don’t the developers understand that half the game is learning how to play it. Thats the whole point of boss fights. Can you imagine playing SotC and before ever Colossus a message popped up telling you exactly what to do.
So yeah, DS2 is aiming at a wider market = Dumbed down

Like Bioshock, there will be less fright and more action for the sequel. Truly a shame, considering how great the first one was.

So innovative you’ll have to pay to play. Pay for ammo for your gun, super bullets if you want. Pay for new modes hat allow more than 3 opponents and so on.
