Ubisoft: Assassin’s Creed II moves close to 9 million units

Ubisoft has announced via its financial results today that Assassin’s Creed II has moved almost 9 million units worldwide.
Not bad at all.
On top of that, Splinter Cell: Conviction has moved 1.8 million units.
The company also reports that its full-year 2009-10 sales results for the full year came in at €871M, compared to €1,058M YoY which is a 17.7 percent loss.
Sales for the fourth quarter came to €210M, which is up 1.9 percent compared to €206 million YoY.
“The global economic crisis had a pronounced impact on the video game industry in 2009, which contracted by nearly 10 percent year-on-year,” wrote CEO Yves Guillemot.
“Ubisoft’s sales were hit particularly hard, falling 18 percent over the full year despite a stabilization in the second half of the year, when figures came in on a par with the corresponding period of 2008-09.
“This overall contraction in sales, combined with additional write-downs recorded for games already launched as well as for upcoming releases, led to a 60M€ operating loss.”
On the Wii front for the company, Just Dance sold around 3M units and Red Steel 2 sales were in line with recently revised forecasts.

@1 YES. Do it. NOW.
Assasins Creed 2 was a very good experience except it was a little bit too repetitive in the end.

Thats 1 million more than the original… and all those vast improvements deserve it. I liked the original, but this was really addictive for me.
