Bungie stats: More participated in Reach Beta than Halo 3′s

Machinima has a new video up showing the last gametype and an overview of the new modes for the Halo: Reach Beta, and have also dropped some official stats from Bungie.
According to Bungie’s official stats, more players logged into the Halo:Beta on day one than during the entire Beta for Halo 3.
That’s a lot of folks.
Also, since you love stats – 298, 942 players have logged in during the past 24-hours and 12,599,480 games have been played in the Beta.
The Beta shuts down beforeĀ May 19 – which is tomorrow – so go give ‘er the old college try or one last hurrah.

Ah well it looks like I just played my last game then.
Good fun overall I thought.
I put about 10 hours into it.
My only gripe is the amount of ammo it takes to kill someone.

obvious fact is obvious – ODST sold more than crackdown AND reach beta was available to ALL ODST copies, halo 3 beta was only in selected crackdown copies.

@AHA: I remeber, that I bought a betapass from Amazon. Oh my, I paid to be a betatester! There you have it. Halofans pay to play. How numb.
Can’t wait to play the campaign.

If I remember correctly, every Crackdown copy could also download the Halo 3 beta. There was just a much smaller window between the launch of Crackdown (February 2007) and the Halo 3 beta (May 2007) than Halo 3: ODST (September 2009) and Reach beta (May 2010)
