Analyst: Bungie would be “very good fit” to replace Infinity Ward

Bungie’s new ten-year deal to have its new IP published by Activision seems to be a good enough reason to replace Infinity Ward, according to one analyst.

In fact, Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia seems to think the house that built Halo would be a “very good fit” as a potential replacement as developer of any future Modern Warfare titles.

“We feel that, if needed, Bungie would be a very good potential fit to replace Infinity Ward on development of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise in the future,” he said.

But despite that, Bhatia reckons there’d be a “low probability” of this happening anytime in the near future.

Already, Bungie’s Joe Staten has said it needed to get the announcement of the deal out there to “break through” the “noise” of what’s happened recently at IW.

Thanks, Industry Gamers.

it’s true.

Bungie can’t write a coherent story either. ;)

I sent a suggestion to Pat for an add-on that should stop most spam-bots from being able to register.

I was also going to suggest Akismet to him, but then BDH would end up on the ban list automatically because of all the links he posts…

Hehe, gotta be cruel to be kind!

In fairness his current medication seems to have reigned in the rampant lunacy.

Is it possible that the two ex IW obss saw that coming? From one hand they had the CoD IP splitted into three parties with them gettin royalties for just one (roughly) plus getting no royaltties for their engine used in the treyarch titles. On the other and a brand new IP owned by another studio that would also share Acti’s Marketing and PR calendar with them.

So they did a very posished title, getting all the best ideas from the community but at the same time they closed support for this community not to give Acti new ideas after they have left.

Bungie is the best replacement for them I don’t know if Acti already realized that at the same conditions they could had had signed a new deal with IW the day after MW2 went gold.
