Screens – Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light

laracroft

Crystal Dynamics sent us over some screens from Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light this morning, featuring fantasy artist Michael Komarck’s interpretation of Lara and Totec.

It’s the first official piece of art for Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light to be released, and it’s below the break.

As the first download only title from the developer and the first co-op Lara Croft game, in this digital only release you will be presented with lots of combat, exploration, and puzzles with an isometric viewpoint.

Playing as Lara or Totec, a Mayan tribesman, you are tasked with hunting down an evil spirit who must be stopped before he plunges the world into darkness with the Mirror of Smoke.

Sounds neato.

Game’s out this summer on XBLA, PSN and PC.

You can check out previous coverage of lovely Lara here, here and here.

I think this is the first Tomb Raider concept art I’ve seen in which Lara’s face is more prominent than her chest.

/cautiously optimistic

This is the first one in which she is actually a human being, not the stylised cartoon version.

Not saying the cartoon Lara was bad, but this version certainly seems more in tune with how games look today.
