Dead Island to possibly be published by Deep Silver

Word on the street has it that the publisher for Techland's Dead Island, the zombie shooter long in the works from the Call of Juarez folks, is none other than Deep Silver.

Back in July last year, Techland revealed it had a publisher for the open-world zombie shooter, but that it was super-duper secret as to to who it was.

The unknown publisher at the time, also wanted Techland to say a bit quite on the title, not revealing much, only that it was not dead yet.

Rumor had it that at one time it was to be published by Ubisoft due to the publishing deal with developer's western shooters, but PC Games as learned that it's possibly Deep Silver after all.

The game, once released on PC, PS3 and Xbox 360, has you playing as a person stranded on a deserted island with a dynamic ecosystem based on the spreading zombie epidemic.

Coolest thing though, is that on this island, anything and everything can be used as a weapon.

We plan on using coconuts as often as possible.

More through the links, just be wary of the bad translation from Google on that PC Games link.
