Hardly surprising when you look at console sales this gen. Japan used to be a lot more important in terms of % of the overall market.

If it does to FPSs what Bayonetta has done to 3rd person action games then I’m all for it. Good luck to them.

theres way to much competition out there for shooters, be it first person or third person, they’ve really got there work cut out for them

the more i think about it, i just feel this one is gonna fall by the way side

I thought that same. It looks like a real person in a variation of storm trooper armour against a bluescreen with CGI edited in.

i hope it gets canceled, so they can get to work on something i haven’t played a gazillion times already.

Another Western style Jap developed game.
This will hopefully be better than the others thanks to the fact it’s made by Platinum. But I’m not holding out much hope.

It’s a mix of live action, animation, and in-engine footage.

The engine footage is easy to spot because you can see the ‘jaggies’.

I’ve always thought, and the responses here seem to endorse the fact, that releasing cinematic trailers for games is a really bad idea.

We have NO idea what the mechanics are just yet, how fluidly it controls or how will actually play out. Sure we have inclings, things are strongly hinted at here, but the feel of a game can’t be put across in a trailer. Still, people have already come out and said it looks like it will be rubbish…did people see a different trailer to me? one with gameplay?

imagine how happy we’d be if this appeared to be a metroid rip off instead of a halo rip off

I’d be willing to bet lots of money that it’s fuck-all like Halo. As has been mentioned by the savvier commenters, there was plenty of PN03 in there.

The suit being put on and the in helmet view is very “IronMan” movie.

This trailer really looks like the Starcraft II reveal trailer, Halo, and District 9(When you see the guys face in the suit) all rolled into one! Show us some actual gameplay footage, i wanna see if there’s anything to set it apart from all the other shooters!

Cool trailer definitely more starcraft 2 with the armor assembly though I dont get the Halo comment unless you count every power armor ever made to be a Halo clone which is retarded as so many game used it before Halo, the Halo armor always seemed to me a clone or nod to the Doom space marine.

I am properly pumped for this now.

They didn’t let me down with MadWorld and Bayonetta, and they almost certainly wont with this.

Especially when Mikami’s involved.

Once I see the GAME, then I can decide on how that is.

The question I have is: what reaction were they looking for? It’s no rhetorical one, either. Are they deliberately trying to swerve us, to pick out some obscure sequence, and say they told us what it was really like, but we didn’t see it due to apathy…
Like I said, opinion is best formed from knowledge, and we don’t have enough to even know the genre the game most plays to imo. Too early days. Wait and see.

Sure, there’s plenty of powersuites in gaming. Take Metroid for example, but that instantly has it’s own style.
This game just screams Halo in terms of art direction, perhaps the gameplay footage will show otherwise.
