Microsoft confirms X10 event for February in San Francisco

According to the SeattlePI, Microsoft is holding its first “X” event in three-and-a-half years.

X10 is taking place at the Terra Event Center in San Francisco, and will last four hours.

It takes place next month on Thursday, February 11.

A couple of games expected to be there include Splinter Cell: Conviction, Alan Wake, Final Fantasy XIII and Fable III, which fits in with the timeline Lionhead dev Sam Van Tilburgh said the game would be shown.

But the cream of the crop at the event will almost undoubtly be Natal, as it will be there.

It’s the first X event from Microsoft since X06 in Barcelona in 2006.

It was where Halo Wars, from the now defunct Ensemble, Project Gotham Racing 4 and a Banjo-Kazooie revival was announced.

No event has been held since on that scale until now, although it has continued in Canada in a small event every year.

Thanks, Alex and tLG.

Fingers crossed for some decent announcements from this! Wonder if they’ll maybe announce a date for the Reach Beta, interesting to see what they show of Fable 3 and hoping for a new game from Epic whether it be from Epic theirselves or from Chair regarding the next game in the Enders game/Shadow Complex series!

The ‘X’ events were always held in Europe to demonstrate MS’ commitment to and desire to win over the region.

Nice to see where Mattricks’ focus really is.
