European retailers Game, Gamestation, and Play are listing Heavy Rain for a February 26 release.
To lend some credence to this, Famitsu said that it will be released in Japan during February as well.
As far as North America is concerned, SCEA stated that it has not announced a release yet, but “stay tuned as we will have a release date soon.”
SCEE has yet to comment.

Didnt they say that it had been pushed back to avoid being released along side to many other games?

Noticed this too.
It’s the same date as Splinter Cell: Conviction as well.
Although Heavy Rain higher on the pre-order list for amazon and shopto… I think it will face some tough competition from SC.

Amazon and Shopto mean nothing in terms of the bigger picture.

SCEE said it was coming soon in a promotional email they sent out a few days ago. That usually means within a few months at the most. There’s also a press embargo on a recent preview that ends on Monday I believe so maybe we’ll hear something definite after that.

Play and Amazon promised me GT5 before Xmas.

I don’t know how much of an effect sc would have, since both are console exclusives. If you are into gaming enough to have both consoles, surely then, it stands that you are into gaming enough to get both. Since one is being presented as a groundbreaking title, and the other is presented as a series breaking title (from a highly regarded, genre defining, lineage).
…I’ll be getting both anyway.

Absolutly right, Mr. magnetic_mechanism.
