Kojima says Zone of the Enders is on the “top of the list”
Hideo Kojima said during an interview over on the EU PS Blog that as far as a new Zone of the Enders game is concerned, it’s not a question of “if” one will be released, just “when”.
“A lot of [people] love Zone of the Enders, and we love the title as well, especially at Kojima Productions and we always want to create one for the next gens as well,” he said.
“Of course, Kojuma Productions has a long list of things we want to bring out, and of course Zone of the Enders is one on the top of the list.
“However, we have to manage staffing and work around projects so it’s not going to be out too soon, but we are really considering it.”

What? I’d rather he created something new and inventive instead of rehashing yet *another* franchise.
I never understood the fuss over Zone of the Enders anyway. It was an average mecha game at best. I apologise for having a total BDH moment, but PCs have been doing the genre better for well over a decade…

Maybe Kojima thinks he can’t come up with something new. Didn’t he try to quit MGS after 3, but fans demanded a 4th? Maybe by going back to something old he’s hoping for fresh inspiration?

PC mech games have always been the simmy, stompy, slow tactical type.
ZOE was fast and arcady. It was just very satisfying to grab an enemy and use him as a bat to beat up other robots.

A new Zone will fail. Its just not that big of a deal. And yea something new, something built from the ground up conceptualy to take advantage of todays online component would be nice. Not just some online taked on the game as an after thought.
