Rumor: RockSteady working on Hitman 5

Actor Mark Sloan has posted on his resume that he has provided motion capture for Hitman 5 which is supposedly being developed by Rocksteady Studios.
This is really the first we have heard about RockSteady working on the game, and other than Variety reporting back in June that a sequel to the Hitman film will “contain story elements from Hitman 5″ and out “in late 2010″, Eidos has not uttered a peep.
Mark this down as the psychotic delusions of an actor until we hear different.
Ok, we’re sure he’s not making it up or in need of medication, but still, we’ll contact Eidos and see if we can find out more.
Thanks, Joystiq.

Why would IO pass it off after they finally nailed the formula?

K&L was a half decent shooter, I didn’t like Freedom Fighters at all though.
Hitman is where it’s at. Mini Ninja’s does look top though.

I remember RockSteady talking about using their own dedicated in house MoCap studio to capture everything for Batman AA, maybe they are sharing resources with a fellow Eidos company. Having said that, are Rocksteady in any way linked to Eidos apart from them publishing Batman?

Nope, they are independent, doesn’t mean they can’t work with/for Eidos with outsourcing etc.

I dunno why they thought Mark Sloan would be good for the main character’s role.

Well, Rocksteady are part owned by Eidos and they have an in-house motion capture facility that they make available to other companies who can rent it out.
There’s no reason why IO/Eidos would not use Rocksteady’s facilities to MoCap a UK-based actor for a Hitman game developed by IO.

No Rocksteady is independent look on their home page and Eidos is dead its now Square’s company along with I/O Square owns them when they signed the dotted line for Eidos.
