Rockstar: Lost and Damned is “significant” enough to warrant free Live week

The Lost and Damned is a big enough deal to warrant free Live play for a week for all that buy it, Rockstar has told VG247.

“The Live week is something that everyone feels is important for fans,” said a rep.

“The Lost and Damned is a significant piece of episodic content, and one we think will redefine what people come to expect from downloadable content.

“We feel that it’s important to do something big for the community.”

In an unprecedented move, Microsoft announced last week that Lost and Damned Live play would be free from February 17-22, regardless of Live status.

Both Silver and Gold members can now play the game online.

The Lost and Damned, GTA IV’s first piece of 360-exclusive DLC, shipped this morning.

Is it just for The Lost and The Damned online play, or for vanilla GTAIV online play too?

I think it’s just the DLC.

Ah, bugger; so it’s not a ‘Silver users can play anything online’ thingy, then? :/

Works too. They make quite a tidy bit of cash out of all those subscriptions.

I quite hate paying £15 a month for Live every 3 months (I know, could just go for the whole year long Live, have to do it every 3 months instead) comapared to free on the PSN.

That said, you really do get your moneys worth with Live, absoutely miles ahead of the PSN (bar the free online play)

    £15 a month every 3 months?

Firstly I assume you mean £15 every 3 months.
Secondly, you can get a 13 month card for less than £30. You’re nuts! :D

Yeah, just get a 12/13 month subscription. Forget the 3 month ones.

You’re going to continue to be poor if you keep getting ripped off like that. ;)

Yup. Quite easily. Even get the code delivered instantly by email.

I’d link something but the moderation monster would eat it so I’ll say go and search for Live in the Eurogamer forums instead.

No prob. They work in advance too, simply topping up how many months you have left before your subscription expires.
