TF2's fifth annual Helloween update is live

Scream Fortress 2013 is upon us, bringing with it a new map, spells, achievements, and lots, lots more.

As detailed somewhat enigmatically on the Bazbobarrabus mini-site, the latest Team Fortress 2 update brings a new map, Helltower, on which one of the oldest rivalries in Mann Co's history will be resolved.

Players will be able to equip a spell book and use spells against enemies; spells can be found by "pushing the cart", by offing foes and in the Clocktower during the Witching hour.

Over 100 Halloween items have been added to the TF2 Steam workshop, and sppoky creates and keys have arrived in random drops. Transmogrifiers can transform items from one class type to another.

Other additions include the Eternaween item enchantment, Halloween gifts, Spell Potions, Wave 666 in Mann vs Machine bootcamp and Halloween-themed unusual effects.

The event runs through November 11.
