Sony details November PlayStation Suite beta

Lucky developers can get their hands on Sony's PlayStation Suite software development kit in November - but not the Vita part.

Speaking at GDC Online, as reported by Joystiq, Sony Computer Entertainment's Shigeru Sugimoto said the November "tech preview" will support Android, and feature a PC simulator allowing for testing without an Android device on hand.

This round of testing will be strictly limited, and will move into an open beta at a later date; support for Vita development will be added during this phase.

Sugimoto reiterated that the Suite will eventually support third-party hardware, and revealed that the Suite will later work for PlayStation 3, meaning developers can build content for the entire PlayStation family - tablets, Vita, PS3 - in one piece of software.

Sony announced the expansion of its PlayStation Suite to the Vita at the Tokyo Game Show. The developer environment has been on the cards since February 2011.
