Modern Warfare 3 being "held hostage", says Acti

modernwarfare241

According to notes found in Activision's countersuit against ex-Infinity Ward heads Vince Zampella and Jason West, Modern Warfare 3's development was being "held hostage".

The firm's biggest issue with the pair - recently sacked from the developer - is that West and Zampella's attempts to get more money from the publisher were "holding future editions of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare franchise hostage unless Activision acceded to their demands," adding the two of them were "delaying pre-production of Modern Warfare 3".

Last week, Activision filed a countersuit against the one already issued by Zampella and West, with the firm claiming they were "insubordinate and self-serving schemers" who negotiated with other companies.

One of those could have been EA, with rumour suggesting the firm placed a million dollar bounty for either one of the former heads at Infinity Ward.

The lawyer that represents West and Zampella said the Activision allegations in the countersuit had made the firm "lose sight of the reality."

Thanks, Eurogamer.
